Dr. Megan Lynott
Democratic Candidate – Coroner

Subsequently, Dr. Lynott studied at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and earned a doctorate in optometry. During her training, she had the opportunity to study in Oklahoma on the Chickasaw Nation Reservation. It was there she realized that an organized and well-run government cooperation could provide quality health care to an entire population.
After graduating from school and completing the 48-hour long National Board Exam, Dr. Lynott went on to work in a variety of practices: corporate, independent contractor, ophthalmological practices, and private optometric practices, before deciding to start Sports Vision Training.
When her sister became ill in 2001 with Lyme disease, because of family need, she switched career tracks and became a public school teacher. She now teaches Allied Health Science and Technology at the Chester County Hospital. She has had approximately 35 students a year go on to a variety of medical fields. Last year she won the Citadel Heart of Learning Award for the best high school teacher in Chester County as well as the Chester County Intermediate Unit Service award and is being honored by the Chester County Youth Center for her volunteer work.
She hopes to expand her dedication to public service in the county by becoming the Chester County Coroner.
